pizza – the homemade way

1 Aug

the good thing about living with my stud muffin now is that we get to cook together. we are always cooking new things, some good, some not so good (my pancake mix the other day).

on saturday morning, we looked in our fridge and realized there were a lot of ingredients in there that we couldn’t really use on their own, so we decided to use them altogether. while in the north end, we decided to pick up some fresh homemade pizza dough from DePasquale’s. they also make handmade, homemade pasta and they made us try  a piece of really good fresh sliced mozzarella. we will definitely be going back for more ingredients for another night of pizza making. we gathered all the ingredients we had, and we made pizza. we didn’t have a rolling pin, so we innovated and used a bottle of wine.

toppings: buffalo pulled pork (left over hog wings from Biltmore Bar & Grille in Newton), mozzarella cheese, tomatoes and basil.

pre-cooked pie

after! voila! pizza!

stud muffin was excited and hungry!

for our first time making pizza, i have to say it was pretty damn good! we are looking for try #2 and another night of awesome pizza!

May I suggest some olive oil brushed on the crust with a sprinkling of grated Parmesan and garlic powder? Cdog and I do this when we make pizza. So good.
