Review: Elephant Walk – Porter Square

24 Jul

friday night stud muffin and i used the groupon i won to the elephant walk from bostontweet and groupon. the elephant walk has locations in waltham, brookline and cambridge. there is outdoor seating, typically we would choose this option, however it was too dern hot outside yesterday.

the cambodian and french cuisine was just the thing we needed. the menu is pretty expansive, but lucky us, we didn’t just have to choose just one thing to eat. they offer a 3 or 4 course pre-fixe menu. here’s a run down of what we had…

first course:

(available Vegan)
Two Cambodian spring rolls filled with ground pork, crushed peanut, beanthread
noodles, carrot and onion; served with fresh greens and herbs for wrapping and tuk trey
on the side for dipping
(available Vegan)
Ground pork simmered in coconut milk with sliced garlic, crushed peanuts and chili
pods; served with crispy jasmine rice

second course:

Salade de Tomate au Feta
Bibb lettuce, plum tomatoes, cucumber, onion and local Feta cheese dressed with our
own vinaigrette
Chilled Avocado Citrus Soup
Freshly squeezed orange and lime juice with diced avocado, button mushroom, plum
tomato, onion, garlic and a hint of extra virgin olive oil
braised short ribs served with rice
salmon served with potatoes, asparagus and shiitake mushrooms
(last two descriptions weren't on the online menu)

we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner though the service wasn't top notch. however, we recommend it.
this may be stud muffin's and my first review together!
have a great week,
kteb and stud muffin
