let me see your maki roll…

this is somewhat of a love story between a girl and raw fish, commonly known as sushi…

once upon a time there was a girl who was a picky eater. and by picker eater, she only ate pizza, chicken and french fries. later in this girl’s life, she realized there were greater things to eat and indulge in – not to mention she almost turned into a chicken from eating too much chicken. it’s true, she started clucking. i tried to find the video of her clucking as a child, google failed. but if she continued eating chicken, i imagine it would have involved into this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5_uTdoa03k.

one day, she was introduced to her love. she didn’t know it was love at first, but soon found out it was meant to be.  she was like most people at first, the whole texture thing threw her off. but after she got past that, she fell deeply in love, and hasn’t looked back. she’s more of a maki roll kinda gal, but will venture to sashimi every once in a while. it surprised her as much as everyone else around her when she said, “i like this stuff.”

why does she like sushi so much, you ask? well, the flavors for one, mix so well together and there’s something about those chopsticks that make it oh-so-seksi. where does said sushi lover go to indulge in the deliciousness that is raw fish? her favorite place at the moment is sato II in stoneham, ma. out of all the places she’s had sushi, she says this one is the best. the love affair started about three years ago and has only gotten more awesome with each piece of sushi that touches her lips.

so, you say to yourself, i don’t like the texture, the consistency- she suggests to just keep eating it (yeah, that’s what she said), and just try a piece or two every now and then. if not, maybe you and sushi just weren’t meant to be together, like her and sushi are. relationships aren’t for everyone. she feels for you, but understands.

she thinks this may help. stare at this picture. wait until your mouth waters, then go and eat sushi. if you need some suggestions on where to go, here’s a list of sushi places she suggests… and since she loves sushi, you should listen to her.

sato II – 147 main st, stoneham, ma

douzo -131 dartmouth st, boston, ma

genki ya– 398 harvard, st, brookline, ma

the girls roommate caitlinemery likes snappy sushi on newbury st in downtown boston.

suggestions the girl got via twitter… from@LaDude41 – Fugakyu in Coolidge Corner, Billy Tse’s in the North End, Sukurabana on Broad St, and O Ya if I had an unlimited supply of money!

@rasavan also suggests fugakyu

if you love sushi as much as she does, share you’re love in a comment through a poem, haiku, song, one-liner, joke. just share the love, people!

    Whenever I think of sushi, I think of that scene in The Breakfast Club where Molly Ringworm is eating the stuff and Judd Nelson says, “You can’t accept a guy’s tongue in your mouth and you’re gonna eat that?”
